The City of Camanche is pleased to annouce the beginning of a program to assist qualified individuals with funding for projects in their homes. There is an application process and a review board which will make the determination of eligibility. If you are interested, please use fill out the application below and submit it to City Hall. This program is funded through TIF revenues generated by new subdivision developments in Camanche. The program is dedicated to assisting homeowners who qualify as low-moderate income based on the Clinton County scale. There will be some important information that you will need to provide in order for the committee to verify your qualification. All of your information is kept private.
The program will provde up to $8,000 in forgivable loans to the property owner with no interest. The property owner must remain as the owner of the property for 5 years. After 5 years, the debt is forgiven. The indebtedness decreases by $2,000 each year. If the property owner sells within 2 years of accepting the funding, the City will need to be reimbursed for the remaining years.

You will be required to submit a quote from a contractor for the application to be considered. The contractor will need to secure a permit for said work. The permit fee will be waived. Once the work is completed, the permit will be cleared provided the work is to code. The contractor will then be paid up to $8,000 from the City, Anything greater than $8,000 will be the responsibility of the homeowner.
